Medical alcohol detox typically lasts 5–10 days depending on the severity of dependence. NYSHIP covers the medically necessary number of days. After detox, most people transition to residential or PHP programming, also covered.

Yes. FMLA protects your job for up to 12 weeks of medical leave. IOP programs allow many employees to continue working. Your employer will not be told the reason for your leave or insurance claim.
